About our Hospital
Mill Lodge Hospital is a newly commissioned 32 bed hospital providing specialist mental health care services on behalf of the NHS. Our patients range from 18 years through to older age people.
We support all patients with a range of conditions including:
* depression
* mental illnesses such as schizophrenia
* personality disorder
* addictions
About the Role
* As an occupational therapy assistant (OTA), you will work under the direction, supervision and guidance of the qualified occupational therapist. You will need to be able to work well alone and also in a group and part of a team, be able to plan ahead by planning and preparing sessions ahead of time to ensure the OT program runs to schedule.
About You
* You will need excellent communication skills, both interpersonal and intrapersonal and be able to cope with challenging situations both emotionally and physically.
* You should be compassionate and enjoy working with people from all different backgrounds. Having understanding of occupational therapy and is essential.
* Past experience in an OTA role would be beneficial but not essential.
* Having experience of working in a mental health setting would also be an advantage.
