We have an AMAZING opportunity for a Support Worker in Supported Accommodation to join a fantastic supported living transitional service in Exeter, supporting young adults between the ages of 16-25 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.
We are looking for enthusiastic, resilient and motivated individuals who want to make a difference to the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.
The role involves helping young people to get ready for adult life, including budgeting, job/ college and university applications. You can guarentee that this role is as fast paced and changing as it is rewarding.
Role : Support Worker - Supported living service
Salary : £31,280 (Inclusive of sleeps)
Location : Exeter (EX4)
Contract : Permanent
Hours : 40 Hours per week
Sleeps Rota: 9am- 10pm sleep 8am
Shift pattern :Week 1 - Monday, Thursday, Sunday
Week 2 - Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
(can be flexible with the shifts)

You will be responsible for :
Encouraging young adults to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
Keeping the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes.
Dealing with challenging behaviours when needed.
Protecting the young adults from risks to their health and welfare.
Providing support for the young people in the home and promoting their independence and well-being.
Maintaining a safe environment for young people.
Ensuring the safety of the young adults and maintaining an up to date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
Developing and maintaining good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives such as Psychologists.
Requirements :
Experience as a childrens residential support worker or young people support worker is DESIRABLE
Experience in another part of the healthcare or social carer sector is DESIRABLE
You will have a DBS on the update service for a quick start! DESIRABLE
NVQ or QCF level 3 or 4 in Children & Young People is DESIRABLE
MUST have a passion to support young adults
MUST be able to commute to Exeter
MUST be a driver with a full licence as you may be required to transport the young people to college and appointments
