A leading US law firm is looking for a Senior Conflicts Advisor to join the Risk & Compliance team in their London office.
The Senior Conflicts Advisor role involves managing complex conflict searches and providing high-quality support in relation to the firm's new business intake process. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a law firm environment and have a strong understanding of conflicts of interest principles and regulatory frameworks.
Key Responsibilities for the Senior Conflicts Advisor role:
* Conduct detailed conflict of interest searches for new matters, lateral hires, and firmwide projects using internal databases and external research tools.
* Review and analyse conflict reports to identify potential issues and escalate more complex matters to senior lawyers or the Conflicts Manager.
* Draft internal conflict summaries and recommendations for resolution, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with firm policy.
* Assist with the implementation of information barriers and ethical walls, and maintain appropriate records for audit and regulatory purposes.
* Act as a key point of contact for partners, fee-earners, and business services staff in relation to conflict queries and matter opening requirements.
* Provide support during the onboarding of lateral hires, including clearance of personal and client conflicts.
* Collaborate with other members of the Risk & Compliance team globally to ensure consistency in conflict handling and policy application.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of conflicts processes, systems, and training materials.
* Assist in mentoring and guiding junior analysts, helping to develop their technical skills and understanding of risk procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements:
* Prior experience in a conflict analyst or similar compliance role, ideally within an international law firm.
* Solid understanding of conflicts of interest principles and regulatory frameworks.
* Familiarity with conflicts search tools and databases) is desirable.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
