About this Policy Officer job:
You’ll get involved in a wide variety of projects, including policy development, public consultations and engagement work with our social housing tenants.
The work is fast-paced, meaning there will never be a dull moment, and there are plenty of opportunities for training and development.
Here’s what you’ll get up to:
* You’ll support the production of the council’s policies and strategies, such as the new Local Plan and the Climate Change Action Plan;
* You’ll help us to deliver existing strategies and monitor how they’re working;
* You’ll support our tenant engagement activities, to ensure tenant voices continue to influence changes to our housing services;
* You’ll help us deliver effective consultation and engagement with our communities and key stakeholders on a variety of projects and proposals.

Working pattern:
* Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays
* Flexible working arrangements, including working from home / remote working
* Permanent contract, 37 hours per week
About you, the ideal candidate for the job:
Your knowledge:
* An understanding of how polices and strategies are developed
* An understanding of how community engagement can help to influence decision making
Your skills:
* The ability to analyse technical information to produce clear and effective recommendations
* The ability to work flexibly across the team to manage different projects and deadlines
Your experience:
* Experience of analysing data and producing written reports
