We are recruiting for an Intermediate Consultant in UX Design to support our mission. Your Role in a Nutshell
* Work with colleagues and client SMEs to define user and business problems, guide collaborative ideation, and follow an iterative, evidence‑based design cycle.
* Create wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity designs that solve specific user problems.
* Use and contribute to design systems to ensure consistency and quality across digital products.
* Participate in user research sessions and translate findings into design iterations.
* Facilitate design workshops and critiques to gather feedback and align the team on the best creative direction.
* Collaborate with developers to ensure designs are clearly communicated and meet user needs when built.
* Ensure all designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG) and are inclusive by default.
About the Candidate
Essential Experience
* Experience in UX/UI design within an agile delivery environment.
* Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
* A strong portfolio demonstrating your design process, from problem definition, through initial sketches and testing to finished products.
* Understanding of user‑centred design (UCD) principles and how to apply them.
Desirable Experience
* Experience working on public sector projects or following GDS Service Standards.
* Basic knowledge of front‑end technologies (HTML/CSS) for high‑fidelity code prototyping and better collaboration with engineering teams.
* Experience contributing to an internal community of practice or external meet‑ups/communities by sharing design trends and knowledge.
* T‑shaped experience of other professions (e.g. user research, UX writing, service design).

Location
Headquartered in Leeds with offices in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London and Bristol. Candidates should be located within reasonable travel distance of one of our offices. Travel to client sites may be required up to 2 days per week.
