Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Suffolk
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (DOE)
About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant on behalf of our client in Suffolk. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis across our manufacturing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in manufacturing finance who is looking to contribute to a dynamic and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Reconciliations
* Assist with Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
* Reconcile GRNI accounts and ensure timely processing of outstanding invoices.
* Track inventory movements, analyse stock on hand, and maintain reject reports.
* Support margin, cost of sales updates, and Purchase Price Variance reconciliations.
* Assist with monthly manufacturing overhead and cost tracking.
* Analyse warranty and rectification costs, reporting by individual case.
Month-End & Transactional Support
* Process month-end accruals and prepayments.
* Support month-end stock reporting and variance analysis.
* Assist with sales and order reporting.
* Provide Accounts Payable support, including invoice processing via Kefron.
* Provide ad hoc finance support as needed.
Manufacturing & Operational Support
* Administer the Manufacturing Time and Attendance system.
* Assist in KPI development and performance reporting for manufacturing operations.
Systems, Audit & Continuous Improvement
* Support statutory audit and year-end processes.
* Participate in ERP system development and process improvements.
* Assist in establishing and maintaining clear procedures for routine finance tasks.
* Support financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
* Help drive automation and efficiency within the Finance team.
Requirements:
Essential Skills & Attributes:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong administrative skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* High attention to detail and ability to work on your initiative.
* Experience in manufacturing or costing environment preferred.
* Proficient with complex spreadsheets and financial data.
Experience:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing business environment.
Qualifications:
* AAT qualified or studying towards AAT Level 4, or equivalent practical experience.
* Understanding of ERP systems desirable.
Other Requirements:
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
* Positive, “can do” attitude and strong work ethic.
* Ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organisation.
