About the role
For our depot located in Aberdeen, we are looking for a Workshop Supervisor who will assist the Depot Manager in ensuring the smooth running of operations in the depot. This will require organizing of the work of Service Engineers, allocating tasks, providing parts necessary for repairs, cooperating with customers, but also administrative issues such as preparing repair records, entering orders, or preparing reports for the Depot Manager. Additionally, the person will support his team in more complicated repairs if needed. One of the important tasks in this position will also be ensuring a safe workplace.
We encourage candidates with experience in a similar position to apply, but also experienced Service Engineers who would like to develop in a more administrative/management position.
Who we are looking for.
To be successful in the role you should have:
1. Experience in a similar position with mechanical experience
2. Knowledge of diesel engines
3. NVQ Level 3 or HNC Engineering
4. Very good organizational and planning skills,
5. Very good IT skills (Word, Excel)
6. CSCS Card and Health & Safety awareness
As a Workshop Supervisor (Depot Manager’s deputy) you will be responsible for:
Workshop management
7. Taking responsibility for the day-to-day running needs of the depot.
8. Allocating tasks within the workshop and yard.
9. Maintaining and monitoring spares levels.
10. Ensuring all equipment is serviced and maintained to a high standard.
11. Dealing with customer's problems on-site as they arise.
Compliance and Health & Safety
12. Being fully conversant and compliant with all Environmental, Health and Safety procedures but also with internal company’s procedures.
13. Being fully compliant with all Quality, Environmental Health, and Safety directives including but not limited to PPE, Accident Reporting, Safety commitments, Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS), and Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE).
14. Monitoring and maintaining a safe place of work.
Administration
15. Recording and maintaining all maintenance records within the depot.
16. Ensuring all documentation including purchase orders, transport record is up to date.
17. Entering any Purchase Orders into the Insphire System as authorized by your Line Manager.
