We are seeking a Production and Logistics Planner to join our Procurement, Planning and Logistics team on a 12-month fixed term contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent.
The Production and Logistics Planner will play a key role in coordinating production schedules, material requirements and logistics activities to support operational delivery. Working closely with Production, Procurement, Engineering and wider business stakeholders, you will ensure plans are aligned with customer requirements, available resources and material availability, helping to deliver work safely, efficiently and on time.
This role is key to maintaining effective planning processes within a safety-critical rail and rolling stock environment, supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
We are looking for an experienced Production Planner / Logistics Planner or similar professional with experience gained within a manufacturing, engineering or operational environment. You will have practical experience in production planning, scheduling, material requirements planning (MRP) and working with ERP systems, with the ability to manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), monitor material availability and support effective inventory management.
You will be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. With excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, you will be able to identify risks, resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. You will be a confident communicator, able to build effective relationships across Production, Procurement, Engineering and wider business teams. Experience with Microsoft Excel, data analysis and reporting tools would be beneficial, alongside a relevant qualification in supply chain, manufacturing, logistics or a related discipline (such as HNC/HND). You will be proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused, with a passion for improving processes and ensuring customer commitments are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
