Working closely with Production, Procurement, Engineering and wider business stakeholders, you will ensure plans are aligned with customer requirements, available resources and material availability, helping to deliver work safely, efficiently and on time.

This role is key to maintaining effective planning processes within a safety-critical rail and rolling stock environment, supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Role responsibilities

  • Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement – Analyse trends, identify improvement opportunities and support initiatives to improve planning processes, systems and ways of working.
  • Supply Chain Risk Management – Identify potential supply constraints, material shortages or delivery risks and support effective mitigation plans.
  • Systems and Reporting – Maintain accurate data within ERP/MRP systems and provide clear reporting to support operational decision-making.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for an experienced Production Planner / Logistics Planner or similar professional with experience gained within a manufacturing, engineering or operational environment. You will be highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. With excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, you will be able to identify risks, resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. You will be a confident communicator, able to build effective relationships across Production, Procurement, Engineering and wider business teams. Experience with Microsoft Excel, data analysis and reporting tools would be beneficial, alongside a relevant qualification in supply chain, manufacturing, logistics or a related discipline (such as HNC/HND). You will be proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused, with a passion for improving processes and ensuring customer commitments are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
