The University of Suffolk Dental CIC in Ipswich is looking for experienced dental nurses to join our team on a full or part-time basis. Supporting the wider dental team, this key role will provide dental nurse support and work alongside dentists, dental therapists/hygienists, receptionists in the care of service users. Full-time and part-time positions available. Key Responsibilities Welcoming and receiving service users into the practice. Reassuring service users and explaining dental procedures especially when there may be communication difficulties. Monitoring, supporting and reassuring service users through relevant behavioural techniques. Identifying any complications and taking the necessary actions consistent with agreed local and national protocols. Recording treatment, for example, baseline charting, clinical treatments and periodontal charting from the dental operator’s instructions. Assisting the operator in organising the day’s activities. Monitoring day lists and appointment diary and updating as necessary. Preparing the surgery for use at the beginning of the session and clearing up at the end of the session. Arranging for the timely supply of materials and laboratory work. Preparing filling and impression materials, instruments, equipment, dressings and syringes as requested by the dental operator. Maintaining hand pieces, aspirators and other equipment.
