The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) model was mobilised in 2019 with the purpose of transforming major project delivery at the Sellafield nuclear site.
The partnership brings together KBR, Jacobs, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, Altrad Babcock and Sellafield Ltd to deliver a 20-year pipeline of major infrastructure projects to support the decommissioning of Sellafield and to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.
In delivering its pipeline of large-scale infrastructure projects, PPP is creating opportunities for its people, supply chain, economy and communities.

TESTER
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tester to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our platforms and products by implementing defined Organisational Test Strategy within the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC). The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in the fast-paced yet constant changing environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software testing methodologies, test planning, test execution, and defect management within the STLC framework.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
Qualifications - Educational:
Essential: Technical Honours Degree, or equivalent
Qualifications - Professional Essential: Incorporated Engineer or equivalent
Certification in Testing Methodology e.g. ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) and/or CSTP (Certified Software Test Professional)
Desirable: Chartered Engineer or equivalent
Experience and Skills:
• Proven experience as a Tester with minimum of 2/4 years in software testing, with a strong focus on the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
• Solid understanding of software testing methodologies like V Model methodology, Agile, Hybrid, including manual and automated testing techniques like SCRUM, Kanban, DevOps.
• Proficiency in test management tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, HPALM or similar.
• Experience with test automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cucumber, or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

PROJECT BACKGROUND
Delivery Capability (DELCAP):
The role is part of the PPP Digital Testing As a Service (TAaS) Team. DelCap is the mechanism through which project management and delivery will be transformed to enforce optimised processes. Sellafield is seeking to both improve the quality of project delivery across the enterprise and reduce the overspend that has occurred in previous years due to time and physical clashes between projects and programmes on the site.
The role is part of the PPP Digital Testing As a Service (TAaS) Team who provide support to the Common Data Environment (CDE), a collection of circa 50 applications platformed on a hybrid public, private Microsoft Azure based cloud. The PPP Digital Operations Team is integrated into the wider Sellafield Enterprise Information Services Organisation sharing common processes, policies and tools.
Digital Asset Management (DAM):
The role is part of the PPP Digital Testing As a Service (TAaS) Team. Sellafield Ltd requires Assets to be Operated and Supported more efficiently and consistently, to reduce time and budgetary overspend free up time that can be used to deliver operations and site management to work safer, faster, and cheaper. Vision for PPP support to DAM is to assist Sellafield Ltd to improve and innovate the optimisation, automation and embedding of core processes and solutions, required to manage asset operation and support in line with Sellafield’s Values and Strategic Goals.
The role is part of the PPP Digital Testing As a Service (TAaS) Team. The SCC uses a new digital platform that brings together existing Strategic, Tactical and Operational data from across the enterprise. Delivering an informed view of all sites wide activities in real time. The SCC will enable us to proactively highlight future threats and opportunities for efficient decision making for the benefit of the enterprise.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into testable scenarios and test cases.

• Develop comprehensive test plans, test strategies, and test schedules aligned with project objectives and timelines.
3. Test Design:
• Create detailed test cases, test scripts, and test data sets based on Functional and/or Non-Functional requirements.
Functional Test: System Test (ST), System Integration Test (SIT), User Acceptance Test (UAT), infrastructure Test (IT)
Non-Functional Test: Load Test (LT), Security/Pen Test (PT), Operational Acceptance Test (OAT).
4. Test Execution:
• Execute test cases manually and/or using automated testing tools, ensuring thorough coverage of all test scenarios for
Functional Test: System Test (ST), System Integration Test (SIT), User Acceptance Test (UAT), infrastructure Test (IT)
Non-Functional Test: Load Test (LT), Security/Pen Test (PT), Operational Acceptance Test (OAT).
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects throughout the testing process, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
6. Test Reporting:
• Generate test reports, metrics, and dashboards to provide stakeholders with visibility into test progress, coverage, and defect status.
7. Test Automation:
• Evaluate, implement, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
8. Regression Testing:
• Plan and execute regression testing activities to validate software changes and ensure backward compatibility.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the STLC framework, driving initiatives to enhance testing methodologies, tools, and practices.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of testing activities into the software development process.
