Job Description
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring plant machinery and production equipment operates efficiently with minimal downtime while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. Working closely with Production, Engineering, and Operations teams, your responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities
* Carrying out mechanical and electrical fault finding, repair, and preventative maintenance
* Supporting robotics maintenance and programming
* Creating and modifying PLC programmes
* Reviewing maintenance data to identify recurring faults and implement corrective actions
* Driving root cause analysis (RCA) and long‑term reliability improvements
* Managing critical spare parts and identifying stock gaps
* Improving PM schedules and condition‑based monitoring processes
* Supporting FAT/SAT activities with suppliers and equipment designers
* Leading and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
* Producing maintenance procedures and work instructions
* Supporting audits and compliance activities
* Deputising for the manager when required
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have:
Essential
* Strong leadership skills and previous team support experience
* Full competency in mechanical and electrical maintenance
* Proven fault‑finding and schematic interpretation ability
* Experience with robotics maintenance and programming
* PLC programming and modification skills
* Ability to prioritise multiple engineering tasks effectively
* Relevant engineering qualification - Time Served Apprenticeship
* Small project management experience
Desirable
* Experience with cleanroom or specialist process equipment
* Knowledge of pressure systems and controllers
* Familiarity with calibration equipment such as DMMs and PSUs
* Laser welding or laser trim knowledge
* Exposure to advanced manufacturing environments
