About The Role
Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick are seeking a Supply Chain Manager to join the Sizewell C Project. It will be built next to Sizewell B which began operating in 1995 and has so far avoided more than 76 million tonnes of carbon emissions.
This role will be hybrid with a minimum of 2 days at our Bristol Aztec West office.
Purpose of the Role
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading procurement and contract delivery activities for allocated MEH Alliance workstreams supporting the Sizewell C project. The role covers end‑to‑end responsibility from sourcing strategy and contract award through to post‑award supplier delivery, ensuring suppliers support programme schedule, nuclear safety, quality and cost objectives. You will provide leadership across procurement and contract management teams, ensuring a seamless transition from procurement into delivery and effective supplier performance management throughout the contract lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with the MEH Alliance supply chain strategy and Sizewell C programme requirements.
* Lead procurement activities including tendering, supplier evaluation, negotiation and contract award.
* Ensure procurement and contract activities comply with SZC governance, nuclear supply chain requirements and project procedures.
* Lead and manage Supply Chain Specialists and Senior Supply Chain Specialists across procurement activities.
* Manage Contract Managers responsible for NEC3 contract administration and supplier delivery performance.
* Ensure clear and effective handover from procurement to contract management at contract award.
* Oversee contract mobilisation to ensure suppliers are ready to deliver in line with project requirements.
* Provide leadership and direction on NEC3 contract administration, including compensation events, notices and change control.
* Monitor and manage supplier performance across cost, quality, safety and programme metrics.
* Identify and manage supply chain risks, including long‑lead items, manufacturing capacity and supplier capability.
* Support supplier intervention and recovery planning where delivery risks emerge.
* Collaborate closely with engineering, planning, commercial, quality and project teams to support programme delivery.
* Promote collaborative, transparent relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Who we’re looking for
Essential
* Significant experience managing procurement and supply chain delivery within major infrastructure, engineering or nuclear projects.
* Demonstrated experience leading procurement teams and managing complex supplier contracts.
* Strong understanding of commercial management and contract delivery within large programmes.
* Able to obtain a security clearance.
Desirable
* Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience.
* Experience administering NEC contracts and working closely with contract management teams.
* Experience working within regulated industries or major nuclear infrastructure programmes.
* Strong understanding of supplier performance management and supply chain risk management.
