About the Role
Price Reporter, Metals in London. The Price Reporter for EMEA Metals Markets is a market reporter based in London who takes responsibility for day-to-day reporting on metals markets for Platts, part of S&P Global Commodity Insights in the Europe Middle East and Africa region.

The EMEA metals pricing team is a dynamic team responsible for key pricing benchmarks across the region. The price reporter will work with colleagues in London and globally, in an often fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities & Impact
We are seeking a market reporter to drive our metals pricing coverage in Europe. The successful candidate will be part of a global team and possess knowledge of market intelligence-gathering activities and assessing prices, applying Platts methodology. This individual must be comfortable writing about pricing information and interpreting data. Being a team player is of utmost importance in this role.
* Assess markets: The market reporter assesses the value of metals market products in EMEA, accurately and fully in line with our rigorous methodology. The reporter will survey market participants throughout the day; publish price updates through the day, especially information used in assessing value; demonstrate a thorough understanding of Platts\' methodology; be rigorous when using mathematics and Excel; demonstrate ability to do a full set of assessments; and ensure our methodology for market is up to date. The reporter may launch new assessments and represent Platts at industry events such as conferences or in face-to-face meetings.
* Write high-quality market commentaries: Write commentaries associated with metals market assessments to help readers understand what is happening in the market and how assessments were arrived at; ensure commentaries meet editorial standards.
* Report news about the markets: Report news and analysis relating to the market and develop ideas for graphics, podcasts, webinars. Cover topics such as supply and demand developments, government data, regulatory changes, trade flows, price trends, decarbonization, and other relevant subjects; work with the news desk and others to identify and write insightful stories.
* Engage with the industry: Build and maintain market sources, manage relationships, keep source lists up to date, and communicate meeting summaries to manager and colleagues.
* Team player: Collaborate with colleagues across global offices in Singapore, Houston, and New York to reflect how regional metals markets are influenced by global activity.

The successful candidate will report on and shape coverage of key EMEA metals markets underpinning the region’s industrialization amid volatile trade policy and evolving environmental regulation.

Required Qualifications
* Proven experience in price reporting
* Understanding of physical metal markets
* Fluency in written and spoken Turkish or other European languages an advantage
* Bachelor’s degree in journalism, economics or business preferred
* Strong numeracy skills including basic algebra and statistics and ability to apply basic math in MS Excel
* Strong spoken and written communication skills in English
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of roles and personalities
* Ability to perform under tight deadlines
* Works well in a team environment, focusing on collaboration
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
