Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced
Construction Procurement Administrator
to play a pivotal role within our
Procurement and Supply Chain team
. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional looking to take ownership of purchasing activities across
maintenance and construction projects
within the group.
The Role.
As
Procurement Lead
, you will oversee the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring the
timely, cost-effective sourcing of materials, plant, and subcontracted services
. You will work closely with
Maintenance, Operations, Finance, and Project Teams
to ensure supply chain efficiency and project success.
This role would suit a
Construction Buyer, or Procurement Specialist,
with hands-on experience in a fast-paced construction or maintenance environment.
Key Responsibilities.
* Lead procurement activities for
maintenance contracts and large construction projects
* Raise and manage
purchase orders
, ensuring compliance with procurement and financial procedures
* Source, evaluate, and appoint
materials suppliers and subcontractors
* Negotiate pricing, supplier agreements, lead times, and service levels
* Develop and maintain strong
supplier and trade account relationships
* Identify
cost-saving and value-engineering opportunities
across the supply chain
* Monitor supplier performance, quality, and delivery reliability
* Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Finance teams to align procurement with project programmes
* Manage invoice approvals, cost tracking, and resolution of discrepancies
* Analyse procurement data and produce reports on spend, trends, and supplier performance
* Maintain accurate supplier databases and procurement records
* Liaise with suppliers and contractors to resolve delivery or supply issues
* Support
fleet and plant procurement
, including servicing schedules, MOTs, and stock control
* Attend pre-start meetings to provide procurement and supply chain input
About You
* Proven experience as a
Construction Buyer, Procurement Lead, or Purchasing Specialist
(minimum 2 years)
* Background in
construction, maintenance, or building services procurement
preferred
* Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation skills
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Confident using
procurement systems, stock control software, and CRM platforms
* IT-literate with proficiency in
Microsoft 365
(Excel, Word, Power Point)
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage suppliers and internal stakeholders
* Able to work independently and under pressure in a fast-moving environment
* Full UK driving licence preferred
* Experience with
fleet or plant management
is advantageous but not essential
