Job Title: CNC Turner (Setter/Operator)

Pay Range: £30,339.75 - £36,000.00

My client, a dynamic organization, is looking for a CNC machinist to join their team in Gloucester. The role spans diverse, high‑impact industries such as aerospace, defence, and high-performance automotive. As a CNC Turner – Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathe machines, ensuring precise machining of components to meet tight tolerances and specifications.
Key Responsibilities - CNC Turner
* Set up and operate CNC Lathe machines (Haas/Fanuc controls).
* Edit and load NC programs on machine controls.
* Ensure components are produced to precise tolerances.
* Inspect and measure finished components, using in-process inspection sheets.
* Maintain accurate quality documentation and communicate with supervisors.
* Proactively manage Health & Safety for yourself and your team.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping in your work area.
* Be flexible in performing additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements - CNC Turner
* Proven experience setting and operating CNC Lathes.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and work to tight tolerances.
* Familiarity with Fanuc/Haas controls and knowledge of M & G codes.
* Experience with composite and plastic materials is desirable.
* Completed an engineering apprenticeship or hold a Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds in a relevant field.
* Proficiency with standard hand‑held inspection equipment (CMM and Shadowgraph experience is an advantage).
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
