This role presents an exciting opportunity to join the Mental Health Hub in Bromley as a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist. The Hub is designed to provide accessible, person‑centred support for individuals experiencing a range of mental health challenges. As part of this innovative service, you will conduct comprehensive assessments and deliver a variety of brief, evidence‑based interventions to address the biopsychosocial needs of those accessing the Hub.
A key aspect of the role involves effectively utilising third‑sector organisations and community resources to promote service users’ recovery, wellbeing, and the ongoing independent management of mental health conditions. You will work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team, contributing to shared care planning and service delivery while maintaining professional autonomy in your practice.
The role is supported by robust clinical supervision and professional development structures within Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring you have access to guidance and opportunities for growth. In addition to direct clinical work, you will play an active role in shaping the service by participating in the development, delivery, and evaluation of primary care mental health initiatives and multi‑disciplinary interventions.
Main duties of the job
* In this innovative service, you will perform comprehensive assessments, contribute to shared care planning and formulation, and deliver various brief, evidence‑based interventions to address the biopsychosocial needs of those accessing the Hub.
* Alongside other MDT members, you will also be responsible for delivering recovery‑focused OT groups that cater to the needs of service users accessing primary care mental health services. Your role will require finding creative, evidence‑based, and occupationally focused ways to respond to the needs of our service users.

* To provide specialist assessments of service users with mental health problems within the primary care setting, ensuring proactive management of service users’ needs.
* To support and deliver a range of biopsychosocial therapeutic interventions to service users in primary care, who do not meet the criteria for secondary mental health services.
* To provide specialist occupational therapy consultation and advice to other team members on the suitability of assessments and interventions, where appropriate.
* To provide effective signposting to appropriate third sector and community‑based services for ongoing support.
* To provide high quality clinical expertise and clinical reasoning in relation to referrals that may require onward referrals for secondary mental health care.
* Contribute to and carry out risk assessment and risk management plans.
* To contribute to the continued development, review and transformation of the primary care mental health hub.

Experience
* Extensive experience working as a mental health professional with mental health experience
* Extensive clinical experience including individual and group work reflecting social inclusion

* Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice
