This is a Fixed term contract expected to last one year. The role sits within the Data & Analytics (D&A) organisation and aims to evolve and improve our Data & Analytics capabilities within the Human Resource transformation program.
The primary objective is to embed a defined data approach within each stage of the project life-cycle, delivering data designs aligned to business priorities and value, robust data foundations, and deployment of analytic capabilities to improve business process decision-making. The role will define and embed rigour around data standards, taxonomies & hierarchies to enable operational and analytical use-cases across different domains, systems and data sources. Usability and sustainability of data are critical to achieving business goals.
Main responsibilities
* Embed and execute the Data Delivery Framework within the project stages
* Align business goals with data design in source systems and analytical solutions
* Act as the bridge between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure data solutions meet user needs
* Ensure data quality, security, privacy and compliance policies are adhered to within the project
* Perform data discovery, maturity and quality assessments
* Facilitate the assignment of data ownership and stewardship responsibilities
* Facilitate data standards & taxonomy/hierarchy definitions and cataloging
* Facilitate business metrics and KPI definitions
* Identify and escalate dependencies impacting data design
* Identify data & analytic capabilities that business processes depend on or improve the solution
* Collaborate with the Data Governance team to evolve D&A standards
* Work with Solution Architect and SI Data Architect to ensure data integrity in the solution and future SAP system
* Coordinate with the EDM team to define and align governance of data within Tarmac
* Work with deployment project teams to identify and qualify source data to satisfy master and transactional data requirements
* Collaborate with IT and business teams to create a realistic plan for data extraction and translation for loading into target systems
* Ensure the data stream is ready to support planning and execution of testing strategy (e.g., dress rehearsals, UAT)
Provide guidance and mentoring to the Data team by advocating for best practices to elevate effectiveness.
Experience & Qualifications
To be successful in this role you’ll need:
* Practical experience with data governance & data management practices and tools (data cataloguing, discovery, lineage mapping, data dictionaries, data quality/observability, data security, data compliance)
* Ability to align data initiatives with business goals and drive data maturity
* Ability to identify opportunities where data can drive revenue, reduce cost, or improve customer experience
* Ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives for non-technical audiences
* Experience managing multiple data projects with timely delivery aligned to business priorities
* Self-starter and independent professional
* Excellent collaboration skills
* Strategic thinker with effective stakeholder communication
