Are you hands-on, community-minded, and committed to delivering excellent estate services? If so, Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) has an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Estate Officer to help keep our neighbourhoods clean, safe, and welcoming for residents.
About the Role
As a Mobile Estate Officer, you’ll be part of our frontline team delivering high-quality cleaning and maintenance services to communal areas in our properties. Your role will be varied, active, and vital to the day-to-day experience of our tenants.
From cleaning stairwells and landings to reporting repairs and supporting community safety, you’ll take pride in keeping our estates in great shape and building positive relationships with residents.
As part of the role, there will be a requirement to participate in a rota to cover weekend duties and where necessary work additional hours to meet the needs of the service.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Clean and maintain communal areas (stairs, lifts, landings, bin stores, etc.) to a high standard
2. Report repairs, hazards, and anti-social behaviour to relevant teams
3. Carry out basic tasks like changing lightbulbs or unblocking bin chutes
4. Move bulky items to designated collection points
5. Provide a visible and reassuring presence to residents, signposting them to appropriate services
6. Operate equipment such as floor scrubbers and token vending machines
7. Support events and community initiatives such as clean-up campaigns
8. Record daily activity using IT systems (e.g., 1st Touch)
What We’re Looking For
9. Experience in cleaning, facilities or estate services
10. Physically able to lift and move heavy items (up to 300kg with equipment support) and climb multiple flights of stairs daily
11. Comfortable using cleaning tools and machinery
12. Basic IT skills to log tasks and updates
13. Good understanding of Health & Safety practices, including COSHH
14. Positive attitude, team player, and great communication skills
15. NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning or Facilities Management (or willingness to complete)
16. Full UK driving licence
