Partnership Director – Winsford
This is a permanent full‑time role based in Winsford, 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of up to £95,000 plus car allowance, bonus and benefits.
Overview
Lead and develop Equans Partnership with Cheshire West and Chester, working closely with other Partnership Directors and Local Authority Ops Directors across the North West to meet the objectives of Equans and the Council. The contract is a 5‑year (extendable to 7) partnership with the Joint Venture (Qwest), delivering commitments and ensuring growth.
Responsibilities (Key Accountabilities)
* Financial Excellence
o Plan, develop and analyse robust, agile financial models to maximise profitability and cost control.
o Continuously challenge and review P+L and consistently deliver results improving bottom‑line net margin year‑over‑year.
* Operational Leadership
o Lead and direct a senior management team, ensuring high‑quality engagement and contractual delivery.
o Build and sustain an excellent reputation with the client through high integrity.
o Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled and, when necessary, draw on wider Equans resources.
o Maintain high staff engagement with a workforce that shares Equans’ vision for the partnership.
* Partnership Working
o Collaborate effectively and influence senior decision‑makers to deliver a strong partnership ethos.
o Deliver contractual requirements, key objectives and partnership plans.
o Use a pragmatic, positive approach to problem‑solving and opportunity building.
o Show clients the breadth of Equans’ skill sets and seek opportunities to maximise impact across the partnership.
* Business Development
o Develop end‑to‑end service capabilities.
o Create clear business plans and operational roadmaps.
o Drive organic growth in capital projects, sustainability projects and wider service areas.
* Strategic Agenda
o Support Equans and Places & Communities strategy in partnerships, while driving net margin improvements.
* Key Performance Indicators
o Customer Engagement: regular, productive engagement with senior clients; formal and informal feedback; governance reporting; development of new opportunities; social value outcomes; growth delivered.
o Collaborative Working: build strong relations across all levels; develop collaborative solutions; client feedback reflects delivery of objectives.
o Financial Performance: net margin, P&L, cash‑flow, WIP, aged debt, revenue with minimum net margin; growth pipeline.
o Leadership: effective communication and teamwork; clear, stretched individual and team objectives.
o Colleague Engagement: engagement plan with eNPS feedback, churn, balanced scorecard KPIs; clear communication; relationships with other Directors.
o Talent Development: performance review process, HiPo development plans, succession planning.
Qualifications or Required Experience
* Proven track record of leading diverse services during periods of consistent change.
* Experience in Property and FM, Housing, regeneration, or project management in a Local Authority context.
* Direct experience leading large‑scale, multi‑stakeholder partnerships (single or multi‑site) with Local Authority outsourcing experience highly desirable.
* Effective transformation and change management skills.
* Strong programme management techniques.
* Public and private sector experience, including procurement processes and stakeholder networks.
* Polished, highly effective communicator capable of promoting Equans capability to suppliers and customers.
* Ability to drive a leadership team to deliver operational excellence in line with Equans vision.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
