Overview
We are looking for an operational Finance Controller from Manufacturing or Engineering with Start-up/Scale-up experience.
This role will take ownership of setting up financial systems & processes within a scaling manufacturing organisation.
The Financial Controller will:
* Own and manage the company’s day‑to‑day financial operations, including maintaining accurate records and overseeing payables, receivables, and bank reconciliations.
* Maintain full visibility of the company’s cashflow position, producing short- and medium‑term forecasts to support informed financial decision‑making.
* Prepare month‑end management information and reporting packs, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and smooth month‑end close processes.
* Coordinate payroll with external providers, managing monthly payroll inputs, approvals, and staff expense reimbursements.
* Support financial modelling, scenario planning, and forward‑looking analysis alongside the Finance Director to aid strategy and investment readiness.
* Oversee HR and people administration, including contracts, onboarding, personnel records, and compliance with employment policies.
Qualifications
* Experience working within Manufacturing or Engineering organisations (ESSENTIAL).
* Experience working in a Start-up/Scale-up environment (ESSENTIAL).
* Strong experience in a similar finance role (e.g., Finance Manager, Assistant FC, Senior Bookkeeper) within the manufacturing engineering industry.
* Excellent working knowledge of core accounting processes.
* Solid understanding of payables, receivables, and credit control, with the ability to manage them independently.
* Exceptional attention to detail, organisation, and accuracy in all financial work.
