Job Description
3. Managing stakeholder expectations (both within Group and externally with Joint Venture partners) through regular communications including face-to-face meetings with internal and external audit, regulators and other relevant third parties.
4. Ensuring that risk is managed and reported consistently both internally and to the company's shareholders, and that it complies with the businesses global practices.
5. Specifying and maintaining procedures to ensure that the risk in the UK is effectively managed, and ensuring that suitably-trained personnel are in place to carry out the required activities.
6. Working with senior management at UK each entity to ensure that all areas are compliant with UK and Group Internal Control policies and procedures
The Successful Applicant
A successful UK Risk Manager should have:
7. Detailed understanding of the techniques used for risk measurement, management and control.
8. Detailed understanding of risk management systems and their operation.
9. An understanding of option pricing theory, and the ability to develop and independently validate complex pricing models.
10. Detailed understanding of the UK electricity and gas markets.
11. Solid understanding of Credit Management
12. In-depth understanding of Value-at-Risk and other risk metrics
13. Understanding of and commitment to the aims of the Group.
14. Manage the relationship between the UK and the business functions operating within the country, ensuring that transparency is maintained between the Global Business Units (GBUs), the Regional/Country structure and Group.
15. The role will also coordinate the quarterly UK Local Energy Management Committee (LEMC), provide a consolidated view of risks, promote cross-GBU synergies and portfolio effects and sharing of good practices across the UK.
What's on Offer
The UK Risk Manager will receive;
16. An annual salary of approximately £80,000 - £110,000, depending on experience.
17. Employer pension contribution of 8-12%, based on employee contributions.
18. Performance bonus of up to 15% of salary.
