Here at Moorview Vets, we are currently looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our small animal practice. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of nursing care including clinics and in-patient care before, during and after surgery. We are looking for someone who is happy to be working in a large team, confident in all aspects of surgery/medicine work-ups and be able to provide high quality clinical care to all pets.

This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week, 5 days per week with a mixture of shifts from week to week between 7.30am -8pm. The Saturday shifts work out in around one in seven, 8.30am-5pm, time is given back for Saturday hours the following week on the Monday. One bank holiday a year (excluding Christmas day and New Year’s Day).

We are a long established first opinion, small animal veterinary practice with 6 primary care branches in the northeast and a large group of staff. The position will be mainly based at 2 of our branches in Backworth and Shiremoor with the occasional visit to other consulting branches.
We are one of the only North-East first opinion practice with a CT scanner in the premises, the rest of our equipment is modern including in-house lab, digital x-ray, ECG, ultrasound, Laparoscopy and dental x-ray.

We are a large group of over 60 staff members. In the Vets team we have medical, surgery and emergency critical care certificate holders as well as rabbit and dental enthusiasts. Within the nursing team we have exotic, medicine certificate holders and clinical coaches.
We have a great team of nurses including 11 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 4 Student Veterinary Nurses and 3 Animal Care Assistants. A number of our Nurses are trained in schedule 3 procedures, allowing our Vets time to deal with more complex cases. We also have Nurses working towards further qualifications in ECC, behaviour, and feline nursing. There is a great atmosphere amongst the staff and help is always at hand for the trickier cases!
CPD is supported and actively encouraged within the team. The practice is friendly, with good communication among the staff and in normal circumstances there would be opportunities to meet outside of work to socialise.
