Position: SEN Tutor
Location: Southampton and nearby areas
Hours: Flexible part-time and full-time roles available
About the Role
As an SEN Tutor, you will provide tailored educational support to students who may struggle within mainstream school settings. You’ll work closely with learners with additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH, anxiety, and other learning barriers.
This is a rewarding opportunity to help students rebuild confidence, improve engagement with education, and achieve meaningful progress in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging one-to-one tuition sessions tailored to individual needs
* Adapt lesson content and teaching approaches to suit different learning styles
* Encourage learner confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing
* Support students in achieving academic and personal development goals
* Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and professionals
* Monitor student progress and adapt support strategies when needed
* Create a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment
Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with children or young people is beneficial
* Backgrounds in teaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, care, or support work are welcomed
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patient, understanding, and flexible approach
* Reliable, organised, and committed to supporting learner success
* Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities
* Ability to travel throughout Southampton and surrounding areas

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
