Job Description
Reporting to the Procurement Team Lead - Outsourcing, the Procurement Specialist – Outsourcing will collaborate with Divisional stakeholders to identify and implement optimal sourcing solutions that support growth and enhance gross margins for Cambridge Life Sciences (cLS). The role also involves Purchase Order management, including confirmations, expediting, problem resolution, and processing NCRs.
Responsibilities Include:
1. Work closely with the Procurement Team Leader – Outsourcing to source outsourced sub-assembly solutions.
2. Process purchasing documentation (e.g., Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Cancellation Forms, non-conforming products) in line with ATS policies and procedures.
3. Leverage the Global Supply Chain Team’s expertise in category management and VAVE to reduce costs for cLS.
4. Develop outsourcing strategies and implement solutions to improve delivery, inventory management, cost efficiency, and transaction reduction.
5. Support engineering standardization initiatives.
6. Execute RFQ processes, make-buy analyses, and establish supplier selection criteria.
7. Maintain supplier relationships and monitor performance alongside the Supplier Development Specialist. Identify and mitigate supplier performance risks.
8. Provide support and input during the design process, including engaging subcontractors, providing direct input, recommending cost and schedule improvements, and participating in design reviews.
9. Lead ongoing status reviews with contract manufacturers, manage pre-shipment approvals, handle revision requests, and address non-conformances.
10. Resolve invoicing discrepancies and approve payments.
11. Maintain favorable Terms and Conditions for ATS.
Qualifications
Education:
* A post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
* Minimum 3 years' experience in Assembly Operations.
* Minimum 3 years related experience in Supply Chain Management (preferred).
* Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Excel (pivot tables & VLOOKUP) and PowerPoint.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
* Proven organizational and negotiation skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to cross-functional teams.
* Data-driven decision-making skills.
* Fluency in Mandarin is considered an asset.
