Who we are looking for
We are seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and hardworking support workers to join our expanding team at the Muirpark, Tranent Service. If you are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of adults with learning difficulties this is the role for you.
This role involves lone working and group work within peoples own homes, providing hands-on support to help individuals achieve their goals and live as independently as possible.
We welcome candidates who are eager to develop their skills, gain valuable experience in social care, and thrive in a supportive, learning-focused environment.
Previous experience in a support role is desirable but not essential as full training and support will be given.
Most importantly, we are looking for people who share our values, are kind, compassionate, and are committed to creating positive, lasting impact for the people we support
Role and Responsibilities:
9. Provide support that positively impacts person's we support health and wellbeing
10. Contribute and implement support plans
11. Be responsible for the delivery of all support and its administration, including tenancy support to sustain
Essential Skills and Attributes
12. Access to a car due to rural outreach locations
13. Qualified to the level required by the SSSC as a support worker in a housing support service/care at home service, or a willingness to work towards and to successfully complete qualification within the SSSC specified timeframe.
If you’re starting a career in social care or are already working in social care but don’t have the qualifications just yet, we will support you to gain the appropriate qualifications needed to register without condition with the SSSC.
14. Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
15. Passion for helping people live independently
16. Experience or interest in housing, social care, or community support
17. Commitment to the values and mission of Care Support Scotland, and to promoting equality, diversity and inclusion
Desired Skills and Attributes:
18. A practice qualification (at least SCQF level 7 or above) recognised by the SSSC, in the category of support workers in a Housing Support Service / Care at Home service, or willingness to work towards this.
19. Understanding of benefits and budgeting support
20. Previous demonstrable experience working within an adult social care setting
21. Understanding of the Care Inspectorate and its purpose
22. Understanding of the SSSC and its purpose
23. A Positive Behaviour Support, or Trauma Informed Practice qualification or accreditation.
Additional Notes
Shift work, weekend work may be a requirement of this role.
