Job Description: This apprenticeship is a degree apprenticeship at Airbus Defence and Space Limited. Start date is September 2026. Location is Portsmouth. Duration is 4 years. University: University of Portsmouth. Degree: BEng Space Systems Engineering.

About us
You will join a department within Airbus that develops how equipment and systems are supported for Satcom systems, including land and maritime systems. You will be involved in bidding activities with commercial, finance, project planning and engineering functions, and how these interact. You will also be involved in understanding how the support is developed, implemented and delivered to customers after contract award.
As part of this degree apprenticeship, you will study towards achieving a Degree in an Engineering related subject.
What you will be doing
Your activities will include the following:
* Development of support solutions and inputs into bids, including written proposals, costs and scheduling
* Influencing design for support, working closely with design engineers as well as sales, finance and commercial functions
* Develop key skills across functions of the business, providing knowledge of business and engineering support activities
* Learn how to develop support solutions for equipment and complex systems, develop technical and complex proposals and plans, and perform supporting analyses
* Learn how to understand customer requirements and contracts, and apply technical expertise to influence these and other functions
Requirements
Eligibility (minimum):
* UCAS points: 104–112 made up of 3 A levels at BCC or above, including a STEM-based subject
OR
* BTEC: DMM
OR
* T Level: Merit
OR
* IB: 28–29
AND
* GCSEs: Maths and English Language at grade C/4 or above, or Functional Skills
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
* Submit a CV stating grades and whether they are predicted or achieved

* Strong science/engineering background with strong written capability

* Grades: If you are on predicted grades, your offer will be conditional on achieving the requirements before the apprenticeship start date.
