* Banking Accounting Advisory (BAA) is a team of specialists with extensive experience delivering expert accounting advisory services, financial reporting, and regulatory change projects to major Tier-1 global banks, challenger banks, and building societies.
* Deep expertise in complex accounting within Banking and Financial Services sectors, including IFRS 9, hedge accounting, securitisations, derivatives, and deal accounting for mergers and acquisitions.
* Provide SME advice on interactions between IFRS and PRA/EBA regulatory regimes.
* Proactively address future challenges in the Banking sector, with a track record of significant growth, requiring dynamic and skilled individuals.
What will you be doing?
* Assist in managing client opportunities, deliver engagements, and contribute to multidisciplinary teams.
* Respond to clients’ ad-hoc technical accounting queries.
* Perform detailed technical accounting analysis of client transactions, including writing formal opinions on complex transactions.
* Support senior management in advising clients on technical accounting issues and regulatory impacts.
* Prepare and review client reports, presenting findings and recommendations.
* Assist in implementing new accounting standards, delivering workshops, and reviewing technical interpretations.
* Support business development efforts, develop client propositions, and contribute to thought leadership, focusing on Financial Services, especially Banking.
* Research technical and industry developments and participate in training.
What will you need?
* At least 1 year of relevant technical accounting experience within Financial Services, particularly Banking.
* Strong understanding of accounting standards related to financial instruments (IAS 39, IFRS 9, IFRS 7, IFRS 13, IAS 32, IFRS 16, IFRS 15).
* Experience applying these standards in the Banking industry.
* Knowledge of IFRS 9 impairment, derivatives, hedge accounting, and accounting change projects is desirable.
* Understanding of non-financial instruments standards and their application in banking deals and finance transformation.
* Knowledge of Banking sector regulations and the interactions between IFRS and regulatory reporting, including FINREP and CRDIV, is advantageous.
* Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent.
Skills and Extras:
* Additional experience in asset management or related Financial Services areas is a plus.
