Maintenance Personnel - Full Time or Part Time position available
About Elmley Nature Reserve:
Elmley National Nature Reserve is a family-run rural estate with an internationally renowned nature reserve, award-winning accommodation and events business, and wildlife-friendly farm on an island off the coast of North Kent. We aim to showcase the beauty of the landscape and nature, with conservation and sustainability at our core.

Located in North Kent, Elmley is 30 minutes from Faversham, Maidstone, and the Medway Towns; 45 minutes from Canterbury; and one hour from South London.
The role:
This is a unique opportunity to work with a friendly, passionate team in an exceptional setting where sustainability and luxury are equally valued. The role involves maintaining our onsite accommodation and spaces, ensuring high standards across various accommodations, communal event spaces, and gardens around Kingshill Farm.
Responsibilities include:
* Performing repairs across onsite accommodation, grounds, and venue spaces as needed
* Conducting regular preventative maintenance and maintaining related documentation
* Checking and replacing fuel supplies, such as gas bottles and tanks, as Elmley is an off-grid location
* Carrying out routine inspections of the site and equipment
* Collaborating with the Back of House Operations Manager on projects, ordering supplies, and managing stock/parts
* Assisting with moving equipment and furniture for weddings and events held on-site
Candidate requirements:
* Proven maintenance skills and a proactive approach
* Skilled in the use of hand and power tools
* Good time management skills, with the ability to report to the Back of House Operations Manager and work within a team
* Ability to lift and transport heavy loads and work in all weather conditions
* A friendly, welcoming attitude
* Full-time hours are available, with weekend work on a rotational basis
* Part-time hours will also be considered
* Longer days may be required during the summer months, especially on rotation
Work location: Kingshill Farm, Elmley Nature Reserve, Sheerness, Kent ME12 3RW. Please note, use ME12 3RN in online maps to account for footpath detours. Own transport is required due to the rural location.
