We are working with a specialist secondary provision for learners with a wide range of Special Educational Needs (SEN), and we are seeking an experienced,mitted, andpassionate Teaching Assistant to join their team on an ongoing temporary basis.In this role, you will support students with a variety of needs including autism,plex learning difficulties,munication challenges, physical disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health needs. You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to help create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
Your New RoleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will:
1. Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to students with varying levels of need
2. Assist with engaging, differentiated learning activities
3. Support students withmunication, behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence
4. Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
5. Provide personal care or mobility support where required
6. Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN specialists
What You’ll Need to Succeed
7. Experience working in an SEN setting or supporting individuals with additional needs
8. A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach
9. Strongmunication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
10. The ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
11. Ideally, relevant qualifications such as Level 2/3 TA or SEN training (desirable but not essential)
12. A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one through Hays
