EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
Our Water Quality & Environment (WQ and E) team has an opportunity for you to join as our new EDM Reporting Specialist.
We are looking for a highly skilled, passionate, and self-starting individual to join the EDM Compliance and Reporting team as a senior technical expert within the Water Quality & Environment department.
As the senior technical expert within the team, you will be responsible for company-level compliance with dynamic external reporting demands.
The role involves analyzing, understanding, and interpreting complex regulatory frameworks, translating them into actionable guidelines for operational teams. You will also need to manipulate large datasets from various sources to identify insights, trends, opportunities, and risks to compliance and performance quickly.
Some key responsibilities include:
1. Driving gold standard company-level compliance throughout the year, adapting to internal and external demands swiftly.
2. Delivering valuable insights into EDM data, influencing business decisions and opportunities.
3. Ensuring adherence to operational processes and guidelines through exception reporting, influencing senior stakeholders and front-line teams.
4. Building and maintaining effective relationships with regulatory bodies such as the Environment Agency, Natural Resources Wales, and OFWAT.
5. Collaborating with wider business teams to develop and improve compliance dashboards to meet evolving needs.
6. Benchmarking with the water industry to identify best practices and influence future regulations.
7. Serving as the subject matter expert for all aspects of EDM reporting and compliance with permit conditions.
8. Identifying opportunities for improvements in EPA measures and Storm Overflow ODI.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
We seek an EDM reporting specialist with experience in external assurance and regulatory reporting, including audits, and translating insights into compliance improvements. Experience in stakeholder engagement at all levels is essential.
You should be capable of presenting to diverse audiences and influencing teams to gain support. Proficiency in working with large datasets from various sources to produce actionable insights is crucial.
Technical knowledge of waste processes (Networks and/or Recycling) and experience in operational and regulatory environments are important.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and a full UK driving licence are required.
We value the right character, positivity, and a caring attitude as much as technical skills. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, as diversity helps us learn and serve our communities better. We want people who are proactive, involved, and eager to make a difference because they care.
