Brighter Birkenhead PCN Ltd are seeking a Salaried GP to work within ourPCN Hub at St Catherine's Surgery to support our Enhanced Access scheme. The successful candidate(s) will work from the Hub every Friday from 1300 until 2000. The PCN Hub is based within modernpurpose-built premises and will see acute on-the-day presentations (15-minuteappointments), booked via member Practices.

Job responsibilities
Job summary:
Thepost-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needsin a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all PCN patients.
Clinicalresponsibilities:
* In accordance withthe Hub timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-selfavailable to undertake a variety of duties including surgeryconsultations, telephone consultations, checking and signing prescriptions, and dealing with queries,paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
* Makingprofessional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems,whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers withinthe organisation
* Assessing thehealth care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosedproblems
* Screening patientsfor disease risk factors and early signs of illness
* Providingcounselling and health education
* Admitting ordischarging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other careproviders as appropriate
* Recording clearand contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
* Compiling andissuing computer-generated acute prescriptions (avoidinghand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
* Prescribing inaccordance with the PCN prescribing formulary (or generically)whenever this is clinically appropriate
* In general thepost-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties andresponsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
* Annual appraisal and revalidation up-to-date
* General practice (Vocational Training Scheme) trained
* On a medical performers list
* Enhanced CRB check
* UK driving licence
* Current CPR certificate
* UK work permit (if required)
* Medical Defence Indemnity
* Evidence of continued professional development

* Working in Primary Care
* Chronic disease management
* Primary prevention & screening services
* Clinical Governance
* Delivery of QoF targets
* Self audit and reflection
* Organised and efficient in record keeping and completion of paperwork
* Time management being able to prioritise work and work under pressure
