To assess learners undertaking Level 1 Catering, Hospitality and Tourism and Level 2 Catering qualifications, ensuring the effective and fair assessment of both theory and practical skills through portfolio-based evidence. This role focuses on marking and assessment activities. Conduct and mark assessments for Level 1Catering, Hospitality and Tourism and Level 2 Catering qualifications in line with awarding organisation requirements. Assess both theoretical knowledge and practical competencies through portfolio-based evidence, ensuring validity, reliability, and authenticity of learner work. Deliver assessment processes in accordance with Step into Learning and awarding organisation standards. Provide timely, constructive, and developmental feedback to learners on progress and achievement. Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of formative and summative assessments. Ensure assessment decisions are supported by sufficient and appropriate portfolio evidence. Support learners in compiling and presenting evidence to meet assessment criteria. Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all learners. Identify and co-ordinate support for learners with individual needs. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of assessment and learner engagement. Encourage learners to give feedback on their learning experience and use this to enhance programme delivery. Contribute to course review and evaluation processes to support continuous improvement. Act as a key point of contact for communications to and from learners while contracted.
