Who we are looking for?
The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for ownership of monthly payrolls, pension & benefits administration and for providing technical and operational support to the Total Rewards Specialist. Line management responsibilities to Payroll Administrator.
**This role is a 18 month FTC - Remote working (must be in the UK) **
Responsibilities
Payroll
* Supervision and reconciliation of 2 x monthly payrolls and checking input of variable data, instructions to third party providers, and check of output and sign-off.
* Process of P45, HMRC new starter checklists, all statutory payments and assist with annual salary reviews, bonus payments etc
* Provide comprehensive support to employees with payroll and tax enquiries
* Deal with queries from managers, HMRC and third parties as required
* Calculate and process manual and ad hoc payments
* Oversight of preparation of monthly reports for overtime, on call, RSU’s, leavers etc
* Process monthly pension schedules and ensure timely payments
* Provide and manage payroll calculations related to all types of parental leave
* Raise payment requisitions for payroll deductions to statutory bodies and benefits providers
* Assist with expatriate administration and tax reconciliations plus knowledge of processing share option transactions
* Support and liaise with Finance re payroll accounting and reconciliations
* Full ownership of tax year end, P11D and provide support with PSA reporting
* Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures
* Manage Triennial Pension Auto Enrolment tasks
* Provide ad hoc reporting as and when required
* Keep up to date on legislative changes and assist with implementation on the team where necessary
* GPG analysis
Benefits Administration
* Maintain membership lists for employee benefits
* Support and liaise with benefits providers, including correct invoicing and reconciliations
* Assist with annual benefits renewals
* Main point of contact for employees with benefit related queries
* Assist with benefits benchmarking, analysis and reporting
* Ad hoc project work as required and other tasks as requested
Requirements
Experience required
* Min 5 years UK payroll experience
* Payroll or Accounts qualification required
* Financial Services experience strongly preferred
* Working knowledge of pension auto enrolment and benefits administration
* High-level numeracy skills
* Strong detail orientation
Technical requirements
* Payroll systems literate
* SD Worx experience preferred but not essential
* Minimum Intermediate Excel and Word skills (pivot tables, vlookups etc)
* Good working knowledge of PAYE, income tax, national insurance, student loans and statutory payments (SMP, SPP, SSP etc) this is not an exhaustive list
* Good working knowledge of pensions auto-enrolment legislation
* Experience of salary sacrificed benefits and payrolled benefits
