Job Description

Join Our Care at Home Team: Make a Real Difference Every Day!

We are looking for motivated, compassionate and highly organised individuals to join our Care at Home Team as a Care at Home Organisers. In this vital role, you will support the effective delivery of high quality care services that enable people to maintain their independence, safety and wellbeing in their own homes.

You will play a key part in the day to day coordination of the service, ensuring our work reflects the Health and Social Care Standards, Self Directed Support principles, and all relevant legislation and local policy.

Key Responsibilities

Service Coordination & Operational Support

• Assist with the daily management and coordination of the Care at Home service.
• Ensure all activities are compliant with legislation, service standards and local policies.
• Promote best practice that supports safety, wellbeing, independence and anti discriminatory practice for all service users.
• Support ongoing service improvement and contribute to the development of high quality care delivery.

Assessment & Review

• Carry out initial assessments for individuals requiring a Care at Home service.
• Conduct six monthly reviews to ensure services continue to meet assessed needs and deliver positive outcomes.
• Ensure all assessments and reviews reflect Self Directed Support (SDS) principles and best value.
Scheduling
• Oversee and maintain the scheduling of care workers’ visits to service users, ensuring continuity, efficiency and person centred delivery.
• Respond proactively to changes in need, staffing, or scheduling requirements.

Line Management

• Provide line management, guidance, and support to Home Carers.
• Carry out supervision, performance conversations, absence management and development discussions.
• Support staff wellbeing, promote a positive team culture, and ensure high quality, person centred practice.
• Address performance, conduct, and capability issues in line with organisational policy.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Compassionate and person centred, with a strong understanding of dignity, respect, and rights based practice.
• Experienced or confident in line management, including supervision, support, and performance management of staff.
• Knowledgeable about relevant social care legislation, the Health and Social Care Standards and Self Directed Support.
• Able to build positive relationships with service users, families, carers and colleagues.
• Confident using IT systems, scheduling tools, and reporting software.
Experience in social care, service coordination, or assessment roles is desirable but not essential if you bring the right values and willingness to learn.

What is the work pattern?

• 35 hours per week
• Monday to Friday
• Will be required to join an on-call Organisers rota for escalation purposes

Requirements

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here .

Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.


Responsibilities

The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975.
