Up to £27,831.68 per annum, depending on experience
Hours & Shifts
38 hours per week. Shifts include early (07:30‑14:30), late (14:00‑22:00) and double (07:30‑22:00) on a three‑week rolling rota.
Job Summary
The Outdoor Group Activity Worker is part of the care team, supporting young people with their independence and facilitating a broad range of activities, excursions and outreach sessions. Work involves developing trusting relationships, managing behaviour, promoting self‑control, and collaborating with the team to meet the needs of children and young people with additional support needs.
Responsibilities
* Support young people with their independence, developing emerging skills and healthy routines.
* Coordinate and deliver activities, excursions, and outreach sessions for pupils after school, during weekends and holidays.
* Plan and facilitate engaging outdoor experiences, adapting to individual interests, triggers and strengths.
* Build trusting, nurturing relationships and act as a role‑model, supporting children to address difficulties and reach their potential.
* Assist in classroom settings when required, providing support and positive reinforcement.
* Promote safety, hygiene and wellbeing, maintaining accurate records and contributing to the smooth running of the site.
Qualifications & Experience
* UK full driving licence.
* UK applicant only – no sponsorship offered.
* Experience in planning or delivering activities to young people is desirable but not essential.
* Real passion for the outdoors, creativity, versatility and motivation.
* Patience, resilience, child‑centred approach, calm and reliable manner.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults.
