Our market leading client is at the forefront of the Mechanical Handling Industry. They require an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to assist the team in designing projects, including control systems design, build, testing, and commissioning activities, to deliver top-quality designs and operational excellence to their clients.
This position involves both office and site work.
Main duties and Responsibilities:
Office Based
* Support control system design team in specifying and integrating electrical field devices
* Create electrical cable block diagrams and schedules
* Calculate electrical cabling sizes
* Generate cable containment information
* Coordinate with mechanical team to ensure electrical equipment integration
* Develop control system testing and commissioning schedules
* Prepare site acceptance test procedures
* Perform electrical control system installation and verification
* Configure Variable Speed Drives
* Conduct electrical fault-finding and testing activities
* Participate in Factory and Site Acceptance Testing
* Produce risk assessments and method statements
* Support project modernization and breakdown repairs
Site Based
* Install electrical control systems
* Verify control system components
* Configure Variable Speed Drives
* Perform fault-finding and testing
* Conduct Factory and Site Acceptance Testing
* Produce reactive risk assessments and method statements
* Support PPM activities
Key Skills/Experience:
Essential
* Experience with Overhead Electrical Travelling Cranes
* Installation and testing of electrical control systems
* Knowledge of safe work practices, permits, and health and safety legislation
* Understanding of Electrical Wiring Regulations
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Ability to work away as needed
* Knowledge of Machinery Safety Regulations (BS EN 13849-1)
* Security clearance to SC level may be required
Desirable
* Current 17th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
* Knowledge of control system instrumentation (Laser Positioning, encoders, safe access systems)
* PLC/HMI programming and fault-finding skills
