Your main role will be to develop and advance the Hazardous Waste (HW) regulatory reform related to the Waste Tracking Service (WTS). This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference!
The Hazardous Waste Regulatory Reform Project Lead will play a key role in navigating complex regulatory environments, implementing reforms, and driving the project to successful completion. Your expertise will greatly contribute to the effective implementation of these reforms.
You will:
* Coordinate and gather input from EA HW teams regarding regulatory and policy requirements of the regime.
* Provide technical input to the EA Waste Tracking team.
* Advise the Defra digital team on the development and design of the Waste Tracking Service, using your technical expertise to ensure it meets business needs.
* Offer technical insights and feedback during Defra policy discussions to ensure the Hazardous Waste Regime requirements are incorporated into the Waste Tracking Service.
* Engage with devolved nations regarding Waste Tracking Service requirements.
Additionally, you will:
* Lead on future Hazardous Waste charging proposals and consultations, providing advice on technical aspects and links to waste tracking.
* Support broader regulatory reforms related to the Hazardous Waste Regulations.
* Be an integral part of the Hazardous Waste team, supporting and contributing to our wider remit.
The Environment & Business (E&B) Hazardous Waste team is a small, high-performing team within the Regime Regulation team of E&B Waste Regulation. We lead on hazardous waste management, supporting government, industry, and colleagues to ensure proper handling of hazardous waste.
