This role focuses on supporting our customers in the UK and occasionally abroad, ensuring their WestRock high-speed packaging machines operate at over 98% efficiency.
The Field Service Technician is responsible for the safety, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of WestRock packaging equipment at customer sites.
They promote safety, actively participate in improving work practices, and contribute to project implementation.
This position offers opportunities for growth in knowledge and experience within our Westrock Europe Field Service Team. As part of our global “One Westrock” strategy, we aim to innovate boldly and package sustainably.
Impact on WestRock:
1. Ensure safe operation and maintenance of Westrock machines
2. Install, commission, and facilitate customer acceptance of new machines
3. Monitor machine performance proactively and intervene to maximize efficiency
4. Manage scheduled maintenance, identifying and resolving issues proactively
5. Assess mechanical wear and replace worn components as planned
6. Enhance customer operators' and maintainers' knowledge; develop SOPs when needed
7. Participate in team efforts to improve work practices
8. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults, escalating issues when necessary
9. Ensure availability of tools, spare parts, and consumables
10. Contribute to continuous improvement of WestRock’s machine design
Qualifications:
1. 3-5 years’ experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electro-mechanical machinery
2. Practical knowledge of PLCs and Mechatronic systems
3. Independent, customer-focused approach
4. Performance-driven mindset
5. Willingness to challenge traditional methods
6. Willingness to travel
7. Proficiency in English; additional European languages are a plus
8. Project management experience is advantageous
9. LEAN and Six Sigma experience is beneficial
10. Experience with continuous improvement processes is a plus
