HGV DRIVER

Cranswick is a leading UK food producer with revenue of over £2 Billion. We produce and supply premium food to high profile UK grocery retailers, the food service sector and other UK and global customers.
The purpose of the role is to ensure the timely, safe and efficient transport of goods / equipment into and out of the Preston site, in order to fulfil the needs of the business.
Under the guidance of the Transport Manager, ensure that the designated loads are transported to the assigned destination
Ensure that any timescales set by the Transport Manager are met in line with legal guidelines; Conduct oneself in line with the current road highway legislation, including maintaining speed limits and driving in a safe and responsible manner
Maintain the upkeep of a current LGV Driving License for the appropriate class of vehicle
Adhere to the relevant customer guidelines regarding delivery of goods into depots maintaining and ensuring the reputation of Cranswick Country Foods at all times
Maintain a clean and tidy cab, meeting both safety and hygiene regulations at all times
Responsibility for maintaining the appropriate checks on vehicles and a duty to report and record any vehicle faults immediately to the Transport Manager
Maintain high levels of work performance including attendance, timekeeping etc
Contribute to KPIs in quality, health, safety and environment, yields and customer service
Assume responsibility for the management of activities which ensure food safety, integrity, legality and quality
Uphold good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety, with particular attention to temperature control and general hygiene
HGV Driving License (Class 1)
Direct experience as a HGV Driver
Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (advantageous)
Time and a quarter overtime rate
