We are seeking a creative, self-motivated research scientist to develop models for multiphase fluid flow. The role requires experience in first-principle and numerical modelling approaches, working with experimentalists and domain experts. You will collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and engage with business and engineering teams to ensure impactful solutions.
Typical Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Model multiphase fluid flow (gas, liquid, and solid physics).
2. Collaborate with experimentalists and domain experts to build and validate models using experimental or field data.
3. Engage with the SLB technical community.
4. Develop innovative solutions to research and engineering problems and communicate them effectively to the technology team and management.
5. Publish scientific papers, write patent applications, and attend conferences.
Qualifications:
* PhD in Fluid Mechanics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
* Expertise in first-principle modelling approaches to Multiphase Flow Dynamics.
* Knowledge of multiphase flow CFD software (e.g., Ansys, OpenFoam, COMSOL).
* Programming experience is highly desirable.
* Experience in building and validating reduced-order models from high-fidelity simulations is desirable.
* Relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals are desirable.
