We are seeking a skilled Mobile Marine Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of our CTV vessels and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles as they apply to marine environments, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and crew members. The Marine Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring that our vessels operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards.
The successful candidate will work alongside our mobile engineers on a 10‑day on / 10‑day off shift rotation across the UK sites to ensure ongoing availability of the fleet.
Duties
* Oversee the installation and testing of marine apparatus and equipment to ensure they meet safety standards.
* Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs of vessels. Address any issues promptly to minimize downtime.
* Provide technical guidance and support to vessel crew.
* Coordinate with other team members and departments to achieve project goals. Manage system‑related information and documentation for reference purposes.
* Ensure all marine systems comply with maritime safety rules and regulations. Work with regulatory bodies to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly operation.
* Prepare detailed technical reports for use by engineering and management personnel.
* Conduct thorough root‑cause analysis to identify issues within existing systems and implement effective solutions.
Skills and experience
* Mechanical and electrical experience.
* MAN engine and Volvo engine experience (training will be provided).
* Previous experience in a marine‑related role.
* Experience with 24 v/240 v electrics and hydraulics.
* Willingness to travel whilst on shift.
* Full valid driving licence.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to apply engineering principles effectively in a marine context.
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
* Must have an understanding of PMS and IRAMS systems.
