About
A leading heavy process manufacturing company is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter / Technician to join its engineering team at a large industrial production site near Maidstone, Kent.
Working as part of the maintenance team, you will carry out planned preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and continuous improvement activities across a range of heavy industrial plant and equipment.
Key responsibilities include
* Mechanical maintenance of process machinery and site services.
* Planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
* Fault finding and breakdown response.
* Repair and overhaul of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
* Supporting shutdown and project work.
* Using SAP CMMS to record maintenance activities.
* Identifying reliability improvements and engineering solutions.
* Ensuring compliance with site health, safety and environmental standards.
Requirements
* Mechanical Engineering qualification (Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
* ·5 x GCSE’s (or equivalent) to include level C or above in Maths and English.
* Experience in a manufacturing, process, production, recycling, paper, steel, chemical, cement, power generation or other heavy industrial environment.
* Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills.
* Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating equipment.
* Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
