We have a rewarding opportunity for 2 Night Care Workers to join our residential service in Romiley, Stockport. The Night Care Worker will, under the leadership of the Registered Manager, work three 10‑hour shifts per week, including weekends, attending to the needs of children and young adults with complex health conditions during the night, performing domestic duties and maintaining appropriate records.


Responsibilities

* Attend to the needs of the children and young adults during the night.
* Perform domestic duties and appropriate record‑keeping in accordance with legislation and regulation.
* Attend staff meetings, supervision sessions and annual appraisals.
* Participate in the Trust’s training courses and undertake, if required, an appropriate QCF programme.
* Work unsociable hours, cover annual leave and sickness when necessary.
* Support the team in a caring home environment as part of the overall service.
* One member of staff will sleep in the unit and may be disturbed in case of emergency.


Qualifications and Requirements

* GCSE level education or equivalent flexibility, commitment and motivation.
* Previous experience working with young disabled people.
* Experience of recording information and working on your own initiative and as part of a team.
* Must be over the age of 22 years at the time of joining the service (Ofsted requirement).
* Must have the right to work in the UK without additional approval for more than 20 hours each week throughout the year.
* Must have an eligible residency status for the purposes of the apprenticeship funding rules.


Location and Hours

Romiley, Stockport, Greater Manchester. 30 hours per week worked over 3 night shifts according to the rota (including weekends). Must be willing to work unsociable hours during the night and cover annual leave and sickness when necessary.


Salary and Benefits

Salary – £20,984 per year (13.45p/h). Contract – Fixed Term Contract.

Additional enhancements – Night Working Enhanced Payment of 25% paid extra per hour at weekend and from 11pm and 6am weekdays.
