In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting compliance with quality standards and procedures for the preparation and application of coatings and surface treatments in the marine industry. You will play a crucial role in ensuring overall quality, reducing defects, and analysing quality concerns. You must be eligible for UK security clearance and due to the nature of the role full SC will be required. A start date will be arranged once baseline has been obtained, whilst the SC application is then processed once on site. If you currently hold SC this can be transferred. Responsibilities Perform inspections and testing according to specified plans and references, ensuring compliance with project specifications and client requirements. Record ambient conditions to ensure they are suitable for the required process output. Ensure proper storage, handling, and usage of materials in accordance with manufacturer's requirements and data sheets. Monitor the performance of painting and blasting personnel, ensuring adherence to contracted requirements and equipment maintenance. Ensure inspection and test equipment is serviceable and personnel are knowledgeable in its use. Verify blast medium and coating materials conform to project specifications. Monitor surface preparation blast profile and cleanliness to meet requirements. Monitor dry film thickness and re-coating intervals. Replace any removed or over coated identification marks or tags. Conduct visual inspections and specified tests after curing activity or completion. Prepare daily reports on work status and progress. Participate in internal and third-party audits of the quality control system. Take proactive measures to prevent and resolve non-compliance issues. Liaise with client representatives for inspection and data output. The QC Inspector can supervise coatings operatives during remedial works; or stop work if continuance of the work would result in non-compliance. The QC Inspector shall work closely with the Coatings Paint Manager(s) and Supervisor(s). Suitable applicants will be qualified to either NACE Level 2 or ICORR (Institute of Corrosion) level I / level 2 with previous coatings industry experience, part of which shall be related to a coatings inspection regime associated with a large project.
