Position Overview
As the International Commercial Lawyer, you will serve as the primary legal advisor to the Board and executive leadership. You will lead on commercial, regulatory, corporate, and cross-border matters, while ensuring legal integrity across all jurisdictions in which Insignia operates. This role demands exceptional commercial judgment, international legal fluency, and the ability to partner closely with business leaders in a dynamic, high-growth organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
* Lead and own the global legal strategy across the UK, EU, and multiple international jurisdictions.
* Serve as trusted advisor to the CEO, C-suite, and Board on legal, regulatory, and business risk matters.
* Build, mentor, and oversee a high-performance legal function, including managing external counsel worldwide.
* Advise on corporate structuring, governance frameworks, shareholder matters, and board operations.
* Lead on M&A transactions, joint ventures, strategic partnerships, and new market entries.
* Draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements including supplier, technology, partnership, and client contracts.
* Oversee regulatory compliance for financial services, payments, data protection, and cross-border operations.
* Ensure alignment with FCA, FINMA, EU, and international regulatory frameworks as relevant.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* UK-qualified (or equivalent) senior legal professional.
* Background in financial services, fintech, payments, private banking, family office, or luxury sectors.
* Strong international exposure and experience advising on multi-jurisdictional matters.
* Deep expertise in commercial, corporate, regulatory, and international law.
* Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-border transactions and navigating global regulatory environments.
* Strong understanding of financial services frameworks, payments regulations, and high-value client operations.
