Forest Manager
Fenwick, South-West Scotland
Due to increasing activities and expanding work programme in our Fenwick office, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic professional with a passion for Forestry. We are looking for someone who will complement our dynamic team and be able to contribute using their relevant skills and experience. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge of forest and woodland management, woodland creation, estate management, liaison directly with a range of clients & stakeholders, preparation and management of budgets, delivering forest plans as well as supporting others within both the management and harvesting teams. Whilst we are advertising for a Forest Manager, we’d encourage more experienced individuals to apply if they are keen to work for one of the UK’s leading forestry companies.
Responsibilities
* Apply forest and woodland management expertise.
* Develop and implement woodland creation and estate management plans.
* Coordinate liaison with a range of clients and stakeholders.
* Prepare and manage budgets and deliver forest plans.
* Support management and harvesting teams in daily operations.
Qualifications
* Demonstrable forestry experience and relevant academic qualifications.
* Good working knowledge of the UK forest industry, site planning, contractor management, and site safety management.
* Commercial awareness and sound understanding of the rural sector.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to identify, analyse and solve problems independently within a team.
* Full, valid driving licence.
* Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or progress towards attaining chartered status encouraged. New recruits will be supported to achieve these qualifications where appropriate.
