Overview
This exciting role is within our Corporate Tax Team and can be based in any of our Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Birmingham or Glasgow offices. As part of a high performing team you will work with a diverse portfolio of large clients across UK listed, PE-backed, inbound and family-owned groups, and take on a variety of projects including BEPS Pillar 2, tax structuring and international expansion.
We are looking for a talented and technically-orientated Senior Manager level to support our rapid growth in international tax provision. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic and challenging working environment, supported by a strong and ambitious leadership team.
The role will suit either a Senior Manager wanting to drive their tax career forward or an ambitious Manager wanting to take the next step.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Working as a key member of the team to provide corporate tax advice to a broad range of clients helping them to achieve their commercial objectives.
2. Managing the successful delivery of technically complex advice including: BEPS Pillar 2 assessment and implementation, tax structuring, refinancing, legal structure optimisation, pre/post transaction reorganisations, tax authority enquiries and providing complex technical support to the wider corporate tax team, e.g. on hybrid mismatches.
3. Being a role model for KPMG’s values.
4. Seeking out and pursuing opportunities with targets and actively participating with Directors and Partners in business development activities.
5. Managing proposals for new work, including delivering tender documents, presenting at client pitches and identifying solutions for client issues.
6. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and understanding of their business in order to create opportunities to help with the provision of tax and other services.
7. Managing aspects of the team’s operations and performance, including resourcing.
8. Coaching and developing more junior members of the team.
9. Liaising with specialists in other departments and overseas offices to oversee their input into tax advisory projects.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
10. ACA, CA, CTA, ACCA or equivalent qualified
11. Excellent corporate tax technical knowledge and dedication to continuously develop
12. Ability to develop, coach and lead staff, as well as manage stakeholders
13. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
14. Inquisitive with attention to detail
15. Well-developed analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
16. Ability to manage a wide range of projects and relationships
17. High level of drive and enthusiasm with a positive attitude
18. Pro-active in identifying and progressing business opportunities for the long-term benefit of both KPMG and the client
