Senior Process Engineer
Permanent
Salary: (Negotiable based on experience) and a flex fund of £1175.
Remote or Hybrid from Aberdeen or London.

Penspen (www.penspen.com) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer.
You should have demonstrable 5 years of experience with modelling capabilities (HYSYS, Pipesim) and experience with Ammonia.
The Senior Process Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency.
We are currently looking for Process Engineers (ideally with OLGA Software knowledge) aiming for the next step to Senior, based in Aberdeen, Hybrid.
Main Purpose of Role:
To undertake the delivery of proposal and engineering activities from feasibility through detailed design, including process deliverables, as assigned by the lead engineer or project engineering manager, in accordance with Penspen’s quality and procedures. Additionally, to develop capability or expertise in specialist process areas such as HYSYS simulation or flow assurance.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage own workload and supervise others to ensure deliverables are issued on time and meet QA standards.
2. Develop key basis of design and design philosophies alongside process engineering deliverables.
3. Ensure all work complies with client requirements, standards, and internal procedures.
4. Review and check process deliverables; approval may be required in some cases.
5. Support estimation, planning, and delivery of process scope; may lead parts of the project.
6. Supervise and mentor less experienced engineers, providing training where needed.
7. Identify opportunities for personal and team performance improvement.
8. Participate in proposal and project execution at various sites.
9. Lead or participate in safety and design reviews, including P&ID, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and model reviews.
10. Provide expertise in specialist process software applications like HYSYS and flow assurance tools.
Qualifications/Knowledge / Experience (Skills):
1. Degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent.
2. Chartered Engineer (Member or Fellow).
3. Strong background in onshore/offshore oil & gas process facilities and pipelines.
4. Experience in developing process deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, equipment sizing, datasheets, and specifications.
5. Significant experience in feasibility, concept selection, Pre-FEED, FEED, and detailed engineering.
6. Proficiency in process software like HYSYS, Promax, and others listed.
7. Knowledge of relief and blow-down studies, PSV sizing, and HAZOP processes.
8. Effective communication skills for reports and presentations.
9. Familiarity with international standards and codes for oil & gas facilities.
10. Knowledge of flow assurance tools like OLGA, Pipesim, TGNet, etc.
11. Willingness to expand expertise into new areas such as LNG.
