Overview
Senior Environmental Lighting Specialist – join WSP in the UK & Ireland. You will work within the Lighting & Energy Solutions team based in one of our UK offices and contribute to environmental lighting projects across multiple sectors, delivering design and advisory services.
Responsibilities
* Technical delivery of environmental reports and strategy documents, collaborating with ecology, planning and architectural lighting colleagues.
* Developing your own and supporting junior staff in environmental lighting skills.
* Reviewing client requirements and developing technical bid proposals.
* Assisting the Project Manager with project bids, reviews and delivery of outcome reports.
* Delivering technical lighting reports, strategy reports and environmental impact assessment reports.
* Carrying out lighting designs using software such as Lighting Reality, Dialux (or equivalent) as needed.
* Undertaking site surveys aligned with professional standards (e.g., ILP PLG04).
What We Will Be Looking For You To Demonstrate
* Understanding of obtrusive lighting, dark skies, Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and related guidance.
* Membership of an appropriate Professional Institution.
* Registration with the Engineering Council (EngTech, IEng or CEng).
* Proficiency in AGI32, Dialux (or equivalent) design software.
* Experience in lighting design projects; ability to coach and mentor junior team members.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team; good prioritisation and flexibility.
* Fluent spoken and written English with a good level of IT skills.
