NXTGEN are partnering with growing and supportive accountancy practice where an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Accounts Assistant Manager to join them. This role offers genuine responsibility, client exposure and the chance to play a key role within a collaborative accounts team. As an Accounts Assistant Manager, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of accounts assignments, supporting both clients and junior team members while ensuring work is delivered to a high technical standard and within agreed timeframes.
You will manage moderate to large accounts preparation assignments, including the associated tax computations, while acting as a key point of contact for clients. This Accounts Assistant Manager role combines hands-on technical work, review responsibilities and team development.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Preparing statutory accounts and accompanying tax computations* Clearing more complex queries directly with clients and suggesting practical solutions* Reviewing work prepared by junior team members prior to manager sign-off* Coaching and mentoring junior staff, providing constructive feedback* Managing assignment timelines in line with agreed budgets* Maintaining strong client relationships through regular communication
The successful candidate will be ACA or ACCA part-qualified or fully qualified (minimum requirement) with experience gained within a UK accountancy practice. You will have hands-on experience preparing statutory accounts and tax computations, strong client-facing skills and up-to-date working knowledge of VAT, including partial exemption. Experience of using Sage, Xero and QuickBooks Online is essential.
